Drew Smith LTD was invited to evaluate and tender a scheme that had been fully designed with planning permission.

A complete review of the scheme was undertaken. Elements that suited were left in those that didn’t, were redesigned to suit client requirements.

The scheme itself was of traditional construction, although extensive underpinning and reinforcement works were required to retain and preserve the original elements of the build.

A sports pavilion, linked by a structurally glazed “box” to the main house includes:

  • • A Hyrdotherapy pool with integral spa area and counter current swim device
  • • A sauna with sprung seats and Biosa therapy generator.
  • • A fully equipped gym

Due to the ground floor level of the pool, a water proof concrete basement was constructed which not only contains the pool but also extensive amounts of plant equipment for the pool and other home systems.

The main house consists of:

  • • Large Bespoke joinery kitchen with Gaggenau appliances
  • • 2 Master and 2 Guest Bedrooms with bespoke wardrobes, furniture
  • • Library Study and office with fully fitted furniture
  • • Snug area with Home Cinema System
  • • Drawing Room

Outbuildings consisting of:

  • • Stables and garages, Solarium and other Equestrian equipment
  • • Hayloft with power winch

A Staff Apartment which has been finished to a high standard including its own kitchen bathroom and study.

The new home also benefits from various smart home technologies including:

  • • Full Lighting Control System
  • • AMX home control system that manages lighting heating audio etc
  • • Hi specification CCTV system with IR illumination
  • • iPad app control of systems
  • • Integrated Air Play Audio Systems

In addition to the above we were also responsible to lead, co-ordinate and manage the interior design. This included the procurement of all interior fittings, soft furnishings and kitchen equipment.

A major key in the success of this scheme has been that the Client was very much involved as a part of the core design team. We have not only had the privilege of building this unique high end house but have also been able to deliver a property that the client feels they own and can call home.
